Welcome to Joy Duck Club, where 8,888 of your favorite, wickedly cute ducks are living their best lives. The Joy Duck Club is an exclusive community that celebrates Joy Ducks, which are NFTs based on the conservation status of real duck species in the wild. It's original concept was born out of the desire to help contribute wildlife conservation research, and now you can be a direct contributor to the cause.

According to Legend, having a Joy Duck NFT in your cryptowallet brings you happiness (of course), but also great returns. How does one get a return on their Joy Duck you ask? Well, that's the premise of the The Joy Duck Club game: the objective is to breed ducks for their eggs, which can be sold on the Ethlas platform. Rarity

Each Joy Duck has a rarity score from 1 to 10, and influenced by the following factors:

  1. Conservation Status: Just like in the wild, the mintable ducks have five rarity tiers that align with their conservation status, ranging from the least threatened (common) ducks to the critically endangered (most rare).

  2. Environment: Each duck is ‘hatched’ in a standard environment. However, some Joy Ducks hatch into a particular season, as depicted in their background, which can range from uncommon to ultra rare.

  3. Accessory: A small handful of ducks have decided to spruce up their look and wear a duckcessory. Is your duck one of them?

  4. Shiny Ducks: A few very rare Ducks sparkle and shine brighter than their peers

 
 

  • These comprise of the most common ducks, they are the lowest risk, abundant, and flourishing. Lucky ducks!

  • Less common and more likely to become endangered in the future. Attitude of quackitude for these duckies

  • More uncommon with a high risk of extinction in the wild. Let’s not try to wing it with these ones

  • More rarely seen with a higher risk of extinction in the wild. You may have seen one of these in a duckumentary

  • Save them - these ducks are extremely high risk of extinction in the wild. What the quack!

    An actual wildlife veterinarian! His work involves collaborative research investigating wildlife as a disease reservoir while he and his teams also seek to identify ways of protecting endangered species in their natural habitats. He also likes to pick up languages on his Duolingo app in preparation for his international research projects.

  • The Ducksigner

    An artist, a designer, a lover. Passionate about bringing the joy of ducks and conservation to this world. Enjoys creating cute duckies and their equally kawaii predators. Aside from his creative hobbies, he enjoys eating fried chicken (not duck), burning off those fried chicken calories at [Solidcore], and going to debauched circuit parties.

  • The Duckgineer

    A visionary when it comes to bringing crypto concepts to game. Working through the ins and outs of the code at The Conservatory, he is the ultimate creator of the Hatchery and the gamemaster across the duckies and their predators. During his free time he likes reading fantasy, sci-fi, and other nerdy things.

  • Aside from collecting all the cute duck NFTs, 20% of all proceeds are pooled into a conservation research fund. This research fund will be used to supplement independent field researchers and their outcomes will be published in our Journal.

    Another way you can contribute is by contributing a thriving marketplace for the Joy Duck Club. Each Joy Ducks purchase or sale you make on OpenSea generates passive returns for the research fund.
